Whittier K-12 School

Whittier K-12 School welcomes you to the 2023-2024 school year! Whittier School is an alternative school providing a separate setting for students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and moderate to severe disabilities who require a separate setting to meet their individual needs. Whittier provides a highly structured educational environment that focuses on supporting students in acquiring the positive behaviors needed for students to access their educational program and make progress towards IEP goals. Whittier's primary focus is on teaching replacement behaviors for those behaviors that impede learning and impact a student's ability to access a comprehensive school campus. Classroom instruction includes academic skills, social skills, daily living skills, communication skills, behavior skills, and vocational skills.

The vision of Whittier School is to provide an educational environment that empowers all students to become self-advocates, enabling them to become active members of their school and community.

The mission of Whittier School is to support every student in acquiring skills, developing positive relationships, and participating in their community through equitable access to engaging curriculum, individualized learning, and collaborative activities designed to meet the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of each student.
