Upper Grades Program Model:
Students enrolled in Whittier School's upper grades program receive academic instruction aligned to prioritized Common Core State Standards (CCSS), Core Content Connectors (CCC), and Essential Understandings for English-Language Arts, Math, and Science. Students also participate in a daily advisory period and daily physical education class. Instruction in self-advocacy, transition skills, and social-emotional skills is integrated throughout the High School program. Community-based instruction, project-based learning, campus jobs, and student run businesses are utilized to provide a program focused on preparing students to reach their post-secondary goals.
